If you’re new here, hi and welcome! Let’s jump right in…

I personally get excited as pencils, pens, markers, and, of course, planners fill the aisles of my favorite stores. I’m a bit of a nerd in that regard. The idea of a reset with the start of a new school year brings me joy.

Speaking as a mother, though, what I really love about it is the return of a routine! (Anyone else like that part?) After three months of summer, which entails days of doing absolutely nothing or being so busy that we barely sleep, I’m ready for the steadiness of fall.

Then, as a ministry wife, I long for its consistency, which encourages my husband. You probably know what I mean. Too often, summer is used not only as a vacation from school and work, but from church and spiritual disciplines. It can be discouraging for ministry families in churches of all sizes. However, I’ve noticed autumn is not only a reset for schools, but for congregations.

That’s my prayer for you and your church, friend. Might “back-to-school” time, draw people back to church with a renewed desire to be steadfast, unmovable, and always abounding…for the glory of the Lord! (1 Corinthians 15:58)
