Where to even begin…

I love kicking off each blog series by sharing the heartfelt reason, or testimony behind it!

When considering how to share the lessons we’ve learned, we aimed to be encouraging, honest, and respectful to everyone involved. That’s why there won’t be names or too many specifics mentioned.

Hopefully, if we are authentic, you can learn from these anecdotes. Maybe it’ll spare you the same mistakes…or just give you a good laugh to wrap up the week! That is the true purpose behind this section.

The first major lesson I can think of dates back to the early 2000s.

(Disclaimer, the following tidbit is not groundbreaking advice…you likely won’t find any of that on our blog. LOL! )

As I flashback to our very first Sunday School class, I recall learning to be very specific when teaching children.

At our rehearsal dinner, the eve of our wedding, a student of ours announced that I was making a terrible decision marrying my now husband. Yep, that happened! That sweet kid had deduced there was no way his teacher would know what Paul’s jail cell looked like… unless he had been in one. (insert face-palm emoji) I mean how dare I marry a criminal, right?

I still chuckle when my husband teaches/preaches on Paul, remembering the look of concern on that (now twenty-something-year-old) little boy.

It’s sweet to reminisce on all God has allowed us to be a part of and pray for the sweet faces behind these memories. It’ll be neat to have a record of them here, as well.

We hope this section will be a place where you can laugh and be encouraged. Though we’d love to spare you a few mistakes, know this – mistakes grow people. We’ve often said if anything about our ministry or us is praiseworthy, it’s the multiply revised version. We can only praise God for the final result. It blesses us to know, that nothing in this journey has been in vain. Trust the same is true for you, beloved.

May your weekend be blessed and each of our Sunday Services be to the glory of God!

Stay steadfast, unmovable, and always abounding…
