Hello, there. Welcome to 1558 Ministries! We are SO glad you landed in our little corner of the internet.
Before you begin to wonder, let me explain a little about who and what 1558 is. This ministry-focused blog, as you might tell from the excerpt, is the reluctant product of my search for the next steps in ministry.
We are a southern-born, raised, redeemed, and rooted (at least for now) ministry couple. It is our deepest desire in creating this blog to stay above reproach and maintain integrity, thus we will remain under our ministry name alone. We pray you can respect that decision and in turn, feel this is a safe space.
Several years ago, (I did mention I was reluctant, right?), the Lord prompted our hearts to encourage Pastors, ministry leaders, and their wives. (More on that later.) Even before our years in active ministry, through various trials, church hurts, and many blessed milestones…we felt the Lord paving the way for us to share our journey. And that’s exactly what it’s been! A journey.
Webster’s 1828 defines journey in part like this: to travel by land to any distance and for any time, indefinitely. (I had to chuckle at and emphasize that.) Or, passage from one place to another (praise God we have the liberty to grow, change, and move forward by His grace!).
In this initial blog, I don’t want to focus on all the fears, negativity, and doubts that stopped me from being obedient. (Stick around though, because that will be shared in a future post.) However, I want to thank God for continuing to pursue me – even when I wasn’t pursuing Him or this goal in faith and obedience.
This project has been in the making for years, and we pray it’ll help other families like ours. (But we’d be humbled if it helped even just one!) Each week I will endeavor to do that, with the Lord’s help, by way of four topics.

As for our ministry’s name, it derives from the verse in 1 Corinthians 15:58. Nothing’s been in vain. We wholeheartedly believe that! May this site be a way we can help others remain steadfast, unmoveable, and always abounding in the work of the Lord!
We’re finally here…and willing…to God be the glory for it all past, present, and future.
